About these jellyfish coloring pages
Floaty bells and flowing tentacles fill these jellyfish coloring pages. Children ages 3 to 5 can color a kawaii jellyfish with curly tentacles or a moon jellyfish seen from above, both with big, open shapes. Ages 6 to 8 meet a lion's mane jellyfish and an upside-down jellyfish resting on a lagoon floor, and kids 9 and up get sea nettles drifting through kelp and moon jellyfish beside mussel-covered pier posts. Teens and adults can settle in with a doodle-pattern jellyfish and a jellyfish mandala.
Color a jellyfish page before a beach trip and talk about ocean safety: many jellyfish can sting, even when they wash up on the sand, so it is best to look and not touch. For a see-through look, use pale shades on the bells and let the water color show around them.

Jellyfish facts to share
- Jellyfish have no brain, heart or bones, and their bodies are mostly water.
- Jellyfish have drifted through the oceans for more than 500 million years, long before the first dinosaurs.
- A jellyfish swims by squeezing its bell, which pushes water out behind it and moves it forward.
Color idea: Try soft pinks, lilacs and peach for the bells with paler tentacles, leave a few white highlights so they look see-through, and fill the water with blues and teals.
Jellyfish coloring page questions
Are jellyfish really fish?
No. Jellyfish have no bones, gills or fins, and they are related to corals and sea anemones rather than to fish. That is why some aquariums call them sea jellies instead.
Which jellyfish pages are easiest?
The kawaii jellyfish with curly tentacles and the moon jellyfish seen from above are made for ages 3 to 5. Each shows one big jellyfish with wide, open spaces to color and almost nothing in the background.
Why does one jellyfish rest upside down?
Upside-down jellyfish lie bell-down on the floor of shallow, sunny lagoons with their frilly arms facing up. Tiny algae living in those arms make food from sunlight and share it with the jellyfish. The lagoon page shows this unusual pose beside mangrove roots.
