About these easter egg coloring pages
The Easter egg coloring pages in this set start simple and build up to folk-art detail. Ages 3 to 5 can color a single striped egg, a basket of three eggs or an egg wearing bunny ears. Ages 6 to 8 get a backyard egg hunt, a dye-cup kitchen scene and a nest of painted eggs, while kids 9 and up get an egg rolling race, a garden full of hidden eggs and a spring breakfast table.
Teens and adults can try the pysanky-style egg, the doodle basket or the jeweled egg on its stand. Before dyeing real eggs, let children color a page to plan their patterns, then copy their favorite onto a real shell with a white crayon.

Easter Egg facts to share
- Pysanky are Ukrainian Easter eggs decorated by drawing on the shell with wax and dipping it in dye, layer by layer.
- The White House Easter Egg Roll began in 1878 and is held on the lawn on Easter Monday.
- Tip: draw on an egg with a white crayon before dyeing it. The wax resists the dye, so those lines stay white.
Color idea: Choose soft spring pastels for the easy eggs, then switch to deep red, black, yellow and orange for the pysanky design to echo traditional dye colors.
Easter Egg coloring page questions
Which Easter egg pages are best for toddlers?
The striped egg, the basket of three eggs and the egg with bunny ears. Each has big shapes with simple stripes or dots inside, so young children can pick a color for each band without fiddly little gaps.
Can kids design their own egg patterns?
Yes. The striped egg and the eggs in the nest have plenty of open space. Children can draw extra zigzags, dots or flowers before coloring, which makes a good warm-up before dyeing real eggs.
What is a pysanky egg?
Pysanky are traditional Ukrainian decorated eggs. Artists draw on the shell with melted wax, dip it in dye, then repeat with darker colors. The expert design borrows that banded, geometric look so you can try it with markers.
