About these mother's day coloring pages
These Mother's Day coloring pages show the moments that matter rather than greeting-card lettering: a child handing over tulips, breakfast in bed, a big hug, planting seedlings together and a family picnic. Ages 3 to 5 can color the easy hug, flower pot and tulip designs, ages 6 to 8 get simple home and garden scenes, and kids 9 and up get detailed picnic and baking scenes.
Teens and adults will enjoy the mandala-vase bouquet, the mother and baby portrait inside a rose wreath and the three-generation garden tea. To turn a page into a gift, color it, add a handwritten message on the back and roll it into a scroll tied with ribbon.
Also in spring coloring pages.
Mother's Day facts to share
- In the US, Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May. It became a national holiday in 1914.
- Anna Jarvis led the campaign for Mother's Day and handed out white carnations, her mother's favorite flower.
- In the UK, Mothering Sunday falls three weeks before Easter Sunday, so its date changes every year.
Color idea: Use soft spring colors like blush pink, lilac, butter yellow and leaf green, and give the carnations and roses two shades each so the petals look layered.
Mother's Day coloring page questions
Why don't the pages say 'Happy Mother's Day'?
Lettering stays out of the artwork so every page prints cleanly and suits any family. Children can write their own message in the margin or on the back, in their own handwriting, which makes the gift more personal.
Which Mother's Day page can a toddler color as a gift?
The potted flower with a ribbon and the child handing over tulips are the simplest. Both have big shapes and thick lines. Let your toddler color, then help them add a handprint or their name on the back.
Are there pages for grandmothers too?
Yes. The garden tea with three generations shows a grandmother, mother and girl together, and the bouquet and flower pot designs suit any special woman in a child's life, including aunts, stepmothers and foster mothers.
