About these fairy coloring pages
Tiny original fairies sit on mushrooms, ride butterflies, host tea parties and dance in moonlit mushroom rings throughout this collection of fairy coloring pages. Ages 3 to 5 can color one fairy in big shapes, and ages 6 to 8 can try medium pages with flowers, a butterfly or a stump house. Full garden and forest scenes keep ages 9 and up busy, while expert pages offer lace-patterned wings and detailed forests.
Fairy pages pair well with a nature walk: collect leaves, petals and acorn caps to use as color references, or glue a few onto a finished fairy coloring page. Soft pastels look lovely on the wings, especially with darker vein lines left visible.
Also in spring coloring pages.
Fairy facts to share
- Natural circles of mushrooms in grass are called fairy rings, and old stories said fairies danced there at night.
- Some of the smallest insects in the world are tiny wasps called fairyflies.
- Many fairy tales were passed down by word of mouth for generations before anyone wrote them down.
Color idea: Choose soft pastels for wings and dresses, deep greens and browns for the forest, and a touch of yellow glow around firefly lanterns.
Fairy coloring page questions
Are these fairies from movies or books?
No. All the fairies here are original designs with their own hairstyles, outfits and wing shapes, from butterfly wings to dragonfly wings. Kids can name them, color them any way they like and make up stories about their forest homes.
Which fairy pages suit young children?
The fairy sitting on a mushroom, the fairy flying with a flower wand and the tiny fairy hugging a daisy each show one figure with very little background. They are ideal for ages 3 to 5 and easy to finish in one sitting.
What is a fairy ring?
A fairy ring is a natural circle of mushrooms that appears in grass or on a forest floor as a fungus spreads outward underground. In old folk tales, people said fairies danced inside the ring. The hard mushroom ring page is based on this idea.
