About these earth coloring pages
These Earth coloring pages celebrate our planet and the everyday ways kids can care for it. Ages 3 to 5 can start with one big, round shape, like a kawaii Earth waving hello or a desk globe on a curved stand. Kids 6 to 8 get a little more to color, such as a child planting a tree or a boy sorting bottles into recycling bins, and the hard pages for ages 9 and up show a beach cleanup and a valley of wind turbines.
Teens and adults can relax with an Earth mandala or a tree growing from the top of a globe. For Earth Day on April 22, pair a page with a small real action: pick up litter around the playground, water a plant or sort the recycling at home, then color the matching picture.

Earth facts to share
- Earth Day was first held on April 22, 1970, and is now marked in countries all over the world.
- About 71 percent of Earth's surface is covered by water, most of it in the oceans.
- Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the only planet known to have living things.
Color idea: Color the oceans in layered blues and the land in greens, tans and browns, then add bright flowers, leafy greens and sunny yellows to the Earth Day scenes.
Earth coloring page questions
Which Earth pages suit preschoolers?
The easy pages are made for ages 3 to 5: a kawaii Earth waving hello, a desk globe on a curved stand and a little sprout growing on top of the Earth. Each shows one large, round shape with smooth continents and almost no background.
How do I color the Earth so it looks like a photo from space?
Use blues for the oceans, greens and browns for the land, and white for clouds and the icy poles. Leaving a few swirls of white over the blue makes the planet look the way it does in pictures taken from space.
Which pages work for an Earth Day lesson?
The medium and hard pages show real ways to help: planting a young tree, sorting bottles and cans into recycling bins, cleaning up a beach, a backyard garden with a rain barrel and a valley powered by wind turbines and solar panels. Kids can color one, then talk about a step they could take at home or at school.
